Hi, I am Deidi Vine,
I am pleased to offer a selection of my original songs for you… I have been passionate about music all my life. I was brought up on a sheep farm on Kangaroo Island, South Australia , & fell in love with the old Jazz greats that my Father played & cherished which included; Fats Swallow, Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, and Billy Holiday… to name a few.I started song writing at 18 & have written over 60 songs of various styles, with predominantly ‘feel good’ lyrics. This may be partly due to the fact that I have been living in the beautiful hinterland of Byron Bay, surrounded by rainforest for over 20 years! ( with our very own platypus playing in a huge water hole beneath our house)& living with 3 of my 4 wonderful children, who also share my passion for music…
Having sung with various local bands and duo’s over the years, I am currently in an all girls band called ‘Chic Republic’ mostly performing dance covers, including a few of my original songs… where I sing, play guitar, keyboards, percussion and harmonica.
I was fortunate enough to win some local awards a few years back, but have not really presented my songs other than to share them with family and friends …
My songs are my gift, I write the messages I need to hear, & I am always delighted when they ‘speak’ to someone else…. I hope to continue writing & inspiring others with my positive lyrics & heartfelt melodies for a long time to come…
It would give me great satisfaction to achieve some acknowledgement as a singer/songwriter…
I have written all of the 16 songs on this CD, with the exclusion of; ‘In the beginning’, ‘Make a difference’ & ‘I never said’ which were co- written with a very dear, long time friend, Roger Collinson. My wish is that you enjoy them as much as I have enjoyed writing and recording them...
